The Society Organiser is requested to report to the Secretary’s Office on arrival. If the Secretary is unavailable please report to the Pro Shop. Any outstanding payments for the day must be made prior to the start of play unless by prior arrangement with Secretary. Players must be changed and ready well before their appointed start.
Please note that payment can be by either cash, cheque, debit or credit cards. Payment by credit card will incur a 2.5% handling fee.
All tee times must be agreed with the Secretary in advance. No delay to reserved tee times is permitted due to frost or poor weather, unless the course is closed for play.
Play is restricted to 2 or 3 ball stableford or match play formats only. Medal play or Texas scramble is not permitted unless with the express prior permission of the Secretary and then dependant on the day and time of play. Any change to the format must be agreed in advance with the Secretary.
Starting times for your player’s should be arranged as follows:
· 2 ball – 5 minute intervals
· 3 ball – 7 minute intervals
· 4 ball – 8 minute intervals
We suggest that you put your low handicap players out first amongst your society.
Please ensure that your group is aware of the Par 3 ‘call up’ holes and abide by this local rule. There are signs to this effect on the course.
Whilst we welcome all golfers, Alresford is a course for golfers who do have some proficiency in the game and organisers are advised that beginners/novices can cause a problem. We would therefore recommend that all golfers will have acquired a basic proficiency in the game and be aware of and demonstrate expected levels of etiquette and behaviour on the course.
Use of Trolleys
Wide-wheeled trolleys are permitted at most times but may be restricted during periods of frost or prolonged wet weather. Players must therefore be prepared to carry should this be the case. The Course Information telephone line (01962-733746 option 1) will give updated information on any trolley and buggy restrictions.
Trolleys and electrical trolleys may be hired from the golf shop.
Privately owned buggies are only allowed if permission has been obtained from the Secretary in advance. Please check with us prior to your day as we do restrict the numbers on the course. No trolley is allowed to cross the white lines in front of the greens!
Our Club Professional, Malcolm Scott, and his team can give assistance during the day, including tuition, and would be pleased to supply prizes for your competitions from his well stocked shop. For further information please ring 01962 733998.
Closest the pin and longest drive markers are available from the Pro Shop on request.
Dress Code: Organisers please review our dress code page and inform your members of the dress code and restriction on the use of mobile phones to avoid any embarassment on the day.
Food & Beverage
The welcoming clubhouse is ideal for either pre or post game refreshments. Formal dining can be incorporated into the golf society package or if preferred a wide range of interesting bar snacks are available. We would ask Society Organisers to inform us in advance if their group intends to eat but are not pre-booking food. Breakfasts are available but must be pre-booked.
The bar is a mixed bar with a good selection of reasonably priced beers, guest ales, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
Our extensive Society Menu is currently under review
