Why are the greens on the Par 3 Academy course not as good as the greens on the main course?

The greens on the Academy course differ from the greens on the main course because they have been constructed in a different way and use a different type of grass, rye grass, from the main greens. Rye grass has been used as it is hardier and wear resistant, because there is no watering infrastructure on the Academy course. Whilst this means the greens are resilient, rye grass also grows more quickly which results in the Academy greens being less manicured than the main greens.
