Testimonials
| For some time I have been struggling to play to my handicap. I
needed to get some advice and started lessons with Simon. Thanks to
his lessons I have a greater understanding of my golf swing and my
game has improved considerably. For me the main improvement has been
the strike area where I am now able to strike the ball more solidly
and consistently. I am energised by Simon’s lessons and would
recommend him to anybody.
Alastair McHarg - ALTON
|
| Simon has a refreshingly friendly, enthusiastic and positive
style. His desire to help his students improve is genuine – he is keen
to celebrate their successes and is always ready to offer suggestions
and encouragement, even outside the formality of a scheduled lesson.
He has certainly helped me to make measurable improvements to my game
and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to golfers of any
handicap.
Harry Dhand – ALRESFORD
|
| Simon is an exceptional instructor and communicator - always full
of encouragement, yet pushing to find ways of upping one’s game. He is
very encouraging and seeks personal feedback to provide practical
techniques and solutions to eliminate problems helping to develop an
approach which is more robust; at the same time setting realistic
goals and objectives. The real breakthrough for me, has been the
chance to be taught a couple of times out on the course - to have the
chance of turning theory into practice under his watchful eye is an
absolute pleasure, Thank you Simon!
Mark Norris – ALRESFORD
|
| I find Simon to be very patient and able to explain problems and
solutions clearly and concisely. He takes a genuine interest in how my
game is developing and always finds the time to enquire as to my
progress (or otherwise!) with "One Minute Coaching" as necessary. This
combined with his caring and friendly personality makes lessons a
positive pleasure
Terry Parfitt - Alresford
|
| Simon is one of the very few teaching professionals I have known
who makes the technical advice he gives understandable. He has studied
the swing in great detail so knows what he is talking about. Whether
you are his first lesson of the day or the last, he gives the same
undivided attention along with enthusiasm and energy”
Garth Bearman - Sunningdale
|
| I have been having lesson's with Simon since March 2011. Since
then, my swing has developed at a fast pace. My game now has a new
found confidence and momentum and ball striking is both solid with a
predictable ball flight. As I move forward to improve my game, I know
that Simon's amazing knowledge and skills as a coach will continue to
raise my game to new heights. Thanks Simon!
Simon Whitworth – Blackmoor
|
| I found Simons teaching methods very easy to follow and his
expansions about the swing and grip were extremely well described”. “
I have been playing golf for around 15 years and found Simon approach
and teaching the best to date and his with his recently acquired Plane
Truth qualification his lessons have improved.
Charlie Kane – Alresford
|
| I have been involved in Sports Coaching for over 12 years now and
have taken Golf Lessons with Simon Tillson over the past 3 Years. I
feel pretty well qualified to state Simon is one of the most talented
coaches I have met - he is calm, passionate & has a unique skill of
explaining techniques in a simple way to Golfers of all abilities. He
is incredibly hard working, but the biggest asset I believe he has is
the fact he "genuinely cares" about all of his customers. I would and
have strongly recommend him to anyone.
Ashley Wright - Alresford

| Take a lesson on the course with Simon, and it will be sometime
later that you realise quite what you have learned. You will
experience the art of subliminal suggestion in addition to the
numerous "tips" on the more mundane things such as perhaps, grip,
line-up, stance, chipping, etc.. For much of the time you become
unaware that you are actually having a lesson, more an extremely
pleasant game of golf in the company of someone who really knows the
game and helps you with yours as you play. He watches your every move
like a hawk, says nothing other than compliments you on your shot,
then chats away about various great golfers and how they achieved
success. Somewhere in that conversation will appear a comparison
between your previous shot and how a particular "great" plays it, and
that lodges in your sub-conscious for later recall. However, beware!
Following a one of these lessons the next competition saw my handicap
drop four shots and now my aging memory has difficulty enabling me to
play to handicap. This guy is good!
Trevor Nice – Alresford
|
| I have had lessons from Simon on general hitting and on putting. I
had never had any putting lesson before and Simon's approach to instil
in me a consistent approach to all putts together with drills for
improving distance control have been especially helpful. I expect to
be back to you over the winter.
George Hand - Alresford
|
| I have had the pleasure of getting to know Simon Tillson over the
last 18 months or so when he has been coaching me at Alresford Golf
Club and I would have no hesitation in recommending Simon to anyone
wishing to get more enjoyment from golf by improving their game.
Inspired himself by The Plane Truth Golf Institute, Simon in an
exceptional instructor and communicator - always full of
encouragement, yet pushing you to find ways of upping one’s game (and
although I can’t boost a single handicap myself), I give Simon huge
credit for a massive improvement in the confidence I have when a
strike the ball, which is worth every bit of the time and money I have
spent on my lessons with him. First of all he encourages and does not
criticise – using video and personal feedback enabling one to
understand the pros & cons of one’s swing and providing practical
techniques to begin to eliminate problems and develop and approach
which is more robust; at the same time setting realistic goals and
objectives. However for me the real breakthrough, has been the chance
to be taught a couple of times out on the course - to have the chance
of turning theory into practice under his watchful eye is an absolute
pleasure, Thank you Simon!

| Malcolm, thanks to you for the meticulous care and attention to
detail you have given me both in ensuring my new clubs were tailor
made for me and in the lessons I have been having which have certainly
improved my game. You have been very patient, pleasant and extremely
helpful and I will be back again for more lessons later in the year.
